How we make it happen
Beauty (Re)Purposed
We partner with TerraCycle and local recycling centres to collect and repurpose cosmetic packaging that would otherwise go to landfill. Drop off empty containers at any participating Neylak partner location, or mail them in using our prepaid label program. In 2024, we diverted over 4.2 tonnes of beauty packaging from landfill.
Clean Brand Standards
Every product listed on the Neylak shop must meet our Clean Beauty Standards — free from parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde, and over 1,400 restricted ingredients. We verify compliance independently before any brand goes live. Brands must re-certify annually.
Carbon-Neutral Shipping
We offset 100% of the carbon emissions generated by product orders through verified reforestation and renewable energy projects. For local beauty appointments, we partner with artists who choose eco-friendly travel options and offer a carbon offset add-on at checkout.
Water Stewardship
We work with our brand partners to prioritise waterless and water-efficient formulations. Our office operations use water-saving fixtures and we fund clean water access projects in the communities where our artists live and work through a 0.5% revenue pledge.
Ethical Supply Chains
We require all brand partners to provide supply chain transparency documentation. We prioritise brands that pay fair wages, do not use child labour, and have third-party certifications (Fair Trade, B Corp, Leaping Bunny) wherever possible.
Minimal & Recyclable Packaging
Our branded packaging uses 100% recycled materials and is fully recyclable or compostable. We eliminated single-use plastic from our shipping supply chain in 2023 and publish monthly packaging waste metrics on our sustainability dashboard.
